Welcome to our machining room. Before a TMI®
product can wear our logo, surface conditioning, secondary machining
and processing come first. This area is approximately 1400 sq. ft.,
filled with polishers, conditioning belt machines, drill presses,
mills, lathes and a tool and die grade CNC. |

Fadal manufactures some of the worlds’ finest
CNC Vertical Mills. This is a side profile view of ours. For the
mere cost of an average house, this machining center will mill,
drill, ream, profile, tap, true, radius, produce concave or convex
surfaces and a myriad of other functions, utilizing one or all four
axis and up to 21 tools. The rail assembly for our door puller is
manufactured in this machine. |

The heart of any CNC (Computer Numeric Control)
starts at the control panel. Program input for our Fadal and all
operating controls are located on this movable command center. A CNC
controller interpolates a scale drawing of a product, converting all
axis and measurements to computer language. Through a series of
commands, this machine can literally reproduce itself. |

Our turret lathe is one of our most valuable
pieces of equipment. Pictured is a close up view of how our letdown
key begins. Multiple tools can be loaded and operated by toggling
through the turret, without stopping to set-up for each tool
individually. The "chips" are our way of knowing that this
machine is productive. Accuracy of + or - .001 is typical, assuring
proper fit and life for every product. |

Our turret lathe has many components and
functions. The three-spoked handle controls the lateral movement of
the slide and toggling of the turret. The DRO (Digital Read Out)
located top left is programmable to 5 decimal places. Navigational
accuracy is up to the operator interpreting the DRO correctly. |

Tooling, jigs and one-ofs of a product are accomplished using a
precision Knee Mill. Weighing in at 4300#, the stability of this
casting assures lateral and rotational accuracy. This is a manual
machine and is equipped with a DRO similar to the turret lathe. |

Industrial grade shelving holds our inventory of products we make
and of products we distribute for other manufacturers. The shelving
on the right is timelock related. Hand tools, ultrasonic cleaners
and chemicals are stored here for distribution to our customers. |

Wide isles and good lighting make it easier for our staff to find
your product needs quickly. We stock a wide variety of products from
S&G, Ilco, La Gard and Grobet, to meet your every day needs. |

This is one of six showcases that acts as a
library and resource center for our design and development . By
studying whom, how and why a product was made, we discover how to
improve, modify and manufacture many of our own products. When
technical questions arise from our customers, our research library
becomes technical, allowing us to visualize in 3D exactly what our
customer is trying to describe. |

A partial view of another showcase, which shows the evolution of
some of our products. Prototypes, one of a kind and pre-production
locks are displayed for our study and the enjoyment of our walk-in
customers. |

As a company, TMI is synonymous with timelock
technology. Tools and custom kits for the timelock technician are an
important part of our program. We design kits and manufacture tools
with the technician in mind. Quality and precision are the standard
by which we judge all our kits and tools. Our JTK (Journeyman
Timelock Kit) is a basic, no-nonsense tool kit, containing only the
essential tools for hand cleaning and minor adjustments. Other kits
and tools are available. Contact our sales department to discuss
your special needs. |
